| 24 of 40. South Falls is the one that is most photographed, but in my mind, Upper North Falls is more picturesque. South is another one that has a trail that take you behind the falls. Benches make a great stop to stop and enjoy the mesmerizing action.
Silverton is the closest town with services to the park. It's only about 10 miles, but once again, the road follows the cow path which followed the deer trail, so don't plan on getting in a hurry. Silverton is an interesting little town, apparently with some mining history. Someone is investing in the downtown buildings - fixing them up and attracting interesting little shops. I suspect it's a place where you could lose a day or more if you were a shopper. I'm not, so no pictures! |
