John & BJ's Place

This is the latest iteration of John & BJ's Place. This time, it is primarily a place for documenting the construction of handcrafted kayaks.

Typically, we document a few trips. There should be trip reports from a Lake Powell solo, Todas Santos, San Diego surf, etc. but I'm too lazy to do trip reports when I can be out paddling and building boats.

BJ's favorite outdoor activity is hiking, especially in the Grand Canyon. One of these days we'll get a report posted from one of her trips, or perhaps from some of the day hikes in the local Superstition Mountains.

I've reposted the graveyard study I did several years ago. I continue to hear from people occasionally who have found someone in common through the documentation of this small, rural, family graveyard located in Gaysville (Stockbridge township), Vermont. Someday, I may get around to reposting the genealogical research that I did, but right now paddling, building kayaks, and my job take the majority of my time.

Some folks have asked me to share about my background, rather than my hobbies. As a result, I've pulled out an outline I did for a class nearly twenty years ago and updated some of it. For those with insomnia, here's the cure.

Welcome to John & BJ's Place. We hope you find it interesting.
