| 01 of 18. The Ross Lake trip has been on my dream list for a number of years, partly because I'd grown up near the mouth of the Skagit and had hiked areas near Ross Lake in high school. I love mountain lakes that aren't overrun with powerboats or personal watercraft. The trip was planned as a laid-back, good-eating trip rather than a "how far can you go today" trip so we never left the south end of the 25 mile long lake.
No costs permits are required from the North Cascades National Park for all backcountry camping including the boat accessible sites on Ross Lake. A number of the pictures in this set were taken by my brother. There are many more pictures of the trip on his website at www.stephenschroeder.com/Ross_Lake_2007/Ross_Lake_2007.html |
