The takeout for the portage to Ireland was at a road accessible site with about 10-12 parties including trailers and motorhomes parked there. Most had small aluminum fishing boats with motors but didn't see any of them out on the lake. The takeout for the Dodd/Ireland portage didn't have an orange triangle that I saw. I finally landed at the boat ramp and nosed around until I found it. The lack of a proper map made me just a tad nervous!

Did two portages (instead of the one planned) on the first day. The Dodd/Ireland portage was 3300 feet. I ended up doubling them both - the pack is too heavy to carry it and the canoe at the same time.
