Cooking Tips
1. To make broth, boil meat with water on the stove or cook in a
crock pot. Save the liquid for the broth.
2. Always add corn starch to COLD liquids when you want to
thicken sauces. Move it across the sides of the pan until it is
smooth. Turn burner on and let it thicken.
Conversion Chart
1/2 teaspoon salt = 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
NOTES:
The milk can be room temperature or refrigerated and you can replace
the recipes that call for "rice milk" with "soy milk".
We use to use Japanese-Style long grain rice so you may need to add
more
liquid to the recipes that call for white rice.
I haven't tried these recipes since starting to use Jasmine rice so I
don't know if the gluten free recipes need more water.
All these recipes are egg-free unless otherwise noted.
We now use about 2 cups (or more-depending on the recipe) of vegetables in most of our recipes so if I haven't changed the recipe, you might want to.
