Peanuts
I do not give our children anything that has
peanuts or peanut butter in it before they turn three years old.
It is recommended that children should not have peanuts or
peanut butter until age three or later; to avoid peanut
allergies for the rest of their lives.
Note: If your diet is dairy-free, don't use the snacks that have dairy in them (or replace them with products you can eat).
- Any of my breakfast or lunch and dinner foods listed
on this page.

- Place nut butter (peanut butter, etc.) chocolate chips,
raisins, marshmallows, etc. on crackers, bread, or rolls.
You can have children decorate faces with them.
Note: I don't give children peanut butter until they are 3 years
old since it is recommended not to give children it to avoid
possible allergies. It is also recommended not to eat
peanut/peanut butter while pregnant or nursing for the same
reason).
Top crackers, bread, or rolls with mixed applesauce, marshmallows,
raisins, chocolate chips, etc.

& ham, or ham with salad dressing or mayonnaise. Add some
chopped up vegetables (raw or cooked) for more nutrition. Spread
on crackers, bread, or rolls.
- BBQ Sandwich: BBQ Beef, Chicken, or Turkey on crackers,
bread, or rolls
- Potato Salad Snack or Sandwich: Use left over mashed

1 1/2 cups quick rolled oats
1/3 to 1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (if desired)
3 cups milk or rice milk or 1 1/2 cups water and 1
1/2 cups milk or rice milk
Margarine (Especially if your diet is dairy-free.)
Stir together oats, raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Note: You can cover tightly and store at room temperature if you are not using all the mixture. Makes 6-8 children servings or 3 adult servings.
In a medium saucepan bring 3 cups liquid to a boil. Slowly add the oat mix to the liquid. Cook for about 1 minute; stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add extra milk or rice milk if needed. Serve.
Butter one side of a piece of bread. Mix together 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle some on the buttered bread. Toast in a toaster oven on low. If you do not have a toaster oven, place toast in an oven until bread is toasted some. Repeat.
Note: You can cut these in half, into strips or use a cookie cutter to make the toast more interesting for your small children.

Main Dishes or Dairy-free Main Dishes
Kids Pizza
On a one side of a piece of bread, spread ketchup, spaghetti sauce or tomato sauce on it. Sprinkle shredded cheese or place a slice of cheese on top of the bread. You can also put some ground beef or other meats under the cheese. Toast it in a toaster oven until the cheese is melted.
If your diet is dairy-free, omit the cheese and toast until it is warm (or use acceptable cheese).
Toasted Cheese Sandwich
Place a piece of sliced cheese on a piece of bread. Toast in a toaster oven on low. If you do not have a toaster oven, place sandwich in an oven until cheese is melted.
Barbecue Chicken, Chicken or Turkey, or Tuna Fish Sandwiches are some sandwich recipes your children will enjoy.
