Drug Information (from a Viewer)
Drug Information: Drugwatch.com is a comprehensive website database featuring extensive information about thousands of different medications and drugs, including drugs that are unsafe to take during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Currently, Drugwatch is campaigning to spread awareness about the Side Effects of Accutane, which include severe birth defects and spontaneous abortion.

Accutane Linked to Serious Side Effects in Pregnant Women
"Accutane is a medication that was commonly prescribed to treat severe acne, typically when other treatments proved ineffective.  Over a period of more than years, Accutane was prescribed to approximately 16 million patients. During this time, Accutane became associated with serious side effects, such as the development of severe birth defects and miscarriage when taken by pregnant women. It has also been linked to an increase risk of depression and suicidal thoughts in some patients. Pregnant women should never take Accutane, as the medication may cause life-threatening birth defects that may affect a developing baby's brain, heart, ears, face, eyes, skull or head. These serious defects may develop following just one dose of Accutane.

The strong link between Accutane and the development of birth defects prompted the creation of the mandatory iPledge program. Through iPledge, women agree to use two forms of birth control and take regular pregnancy tests, or completely abstain from intercourse while taking Accutane.
In addition to birth defects, other severe adverse reactions associated with the use of Accutane, include inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. These serious side effects have prompted the filing of approximately 5,000 personal injury Accutane lawsuits against Roche Pharmaceuticals, the makers of Accutane. On June 29, 2009, Roche Pharmaceuticals pulled Accutane from the market due to numerous personal injury lawsuits and business costs, though the drug is still available in generic form."

Breastfeeding During Pregnancy

Most doctors, say you can't breast feed while pregnant; but you usually can. All I can say is if you are in good health, don't have a history of miscarriages, a history of pre-term labor or other medical conditions that don't prevent you from breastfeeding while pregnant, do it. (This is only my advice, there may be other situations that my prevent you from breastfeeding while pregnant.)

Tandem Nursing
You can continue to enjoy breastfeeding before and after the baby is born. When you nurse more than one baby at a time it is called tandem nursing.

My Advice For Those Who Are Pregnant & Pregnant While Breastfeeding

Make sure you are eating enough of food, taking your vitamins and drinking enough water when you are pregnant. Never diet when pregnant. Eat even more food and drink more water if you are breastfeeding and pregnant. Follow your body instincts of what you need. Your body knows best.

What I Have Found Out About Liquid

I have found out if I do not drink enough liquid (water) everyday, I have headaches. It is not fun to have headaches because you are dehydrated. So make sure you drink your water; 8 glasses or more a day! I will drink more and more as it gets hotter were we live; 110 degrees or more. I always make sure I take a water container with me everywhere I go. I also suggest you do the same thing. Happy pregnancy!

Funny Things I Have Said and Done

There are some funny things I have said and done while pregnant with my second child. I can not remember everything that I have said and done but I willstart off with what just has happened recently. I hope you enjoy what has happened to me! Thanks for visiting and come back often! Maybe I will say or do some more funny things; you never know what pregnant women will do or say.

September 21, 1999

Last night, I said two funny things. I could not stop laughing for awhile. First of all, "Look, the elk have antelopes on their heads." If you do not understand this, I was trying to say, antlers instead of antelopes. As you can see, they both have a-n-t in the beginning of the word. These statements can be understood better if you are reading this in English than in another language. The second one is, "These pancakes have flour buckets." (If you don't understand the second one, it means, big chunks of flour in them.)

Sometimes I will just start laughing for no reason. There are other times that I will laugh because I think something is funny.

October 2, 1999

Last night my husband, my daughter and I went to Home Base to buy some door knobs for our house. My husband started to take the sunscreen out to put it up. I started to laugh. He was going to get our daughter out of her car seat but that did not happen at first. He finally realized what he was doing and took her out of her car seat. I can not even stop laughing right now while I write this. That proves that women can laugh at anything.

October 8, 1999

Last night we went out to eat and my husband turned on a radio station. A commercial was playing, the Toys 'R' Us commerial. There were children laughing and that made me laugh so hard I had tears pouring down my face. I was just rolling with laughter. I laughed some on the way home from my daughter's doctor's appointment on Tuesday, but last night, I was really laughing.

October 27, 1999

Last night we went shopping at Safeway.  My husband had placed my daughter in the back part of the grocery cart while we were in the store. After we picked up our prescriptions, we went to the dairy area of the store. My husband said, "We will go get the cheese and then go down the ice cream aisle." (The ice cream was on sale and he knows how much I have been wanting to eat ice cream; even though we still have ice cream at home.) I started to laugh at what he said. When we went down the ice cream aisle, I saw a great big container of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, I started to laugh so hard and I could not stop for awhile. When we were done, I got in the car and then my husband put the cart away. I did not see ..., so I asked him where she was. He said, "I put her in the trunk." I started to laugh like crazy and I started to cry because I was laughing so hard. The lady that was parked in her car in front of us probably thought, "Why is she laughing so hard?" I did not stop laughing until after we were out of the parking lot for a couple of minutes.  Sometimes I wonder why I laugh at the dumbest things, but it is because I am pregnant and have not been sleeping that well at night.
