My
Testimony and Beliefs
I know that Jesus Christ lives and he
loves each one
of us. Our Heavenly Father loves us too. We all make mistakes and
that is why Jesus Christ died for us so we may be able to return to
live with our Heavenly Father once more. I know I will be with my
family forever if we do what is right. I also know that the Book of
Mormon is the word of
God and was translated by Joseph Smith, a prophet of God. There
is
also a living PROPHET today, President Gorden B. Hinckley. We can talk
to
God, but a prophet can talk to God and hear his word for all of us.
This
is the way we know what he wants us to do as his children.

I have been reading The Book of Mormon everyday since
November
6, 2001 and I have been closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus
Christ.
It was hard to do before but now I want to read it everyday. It
helps
you live a better life and want to do the things Our Heavenly Father
wants
me to do. Read it and you will find that out for yourself.
I am a member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
1. We feel familes are very
important. We feel that
spending lots of time with our children is one thing we should do as
parents. As
a family, we are sealed together for all time and eternity.
This
means we can be together forever; not just this life but after
we
die.
2. Most people know the members of
the church to be
Mormons but that is not our church name. We are members of The Church
of Jesus
Christ of Latter - day Saints. It is called that because Jesus
Christ
is the center of our religion.
3. Do you know why some people call
us Mormon? It's
named after Mormon, one of the last of one of the ancient prophets in
the Book of Mormon.
4. What is the Book of Mormon? The
Book of Mormon is
another testament of Jesus Christ that was written in the
ancient inhabitants of the Americas. Jesus said in the Bible, "And
other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring,
and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one
shepherd." John 10:16 The people in
the Book of Mormon are the people Jesus was talking about.
