portraits of famous people,
World War II, costume from the
17th through the 20th century,

"Places" encourages visitors
to explore eight artworks
from the permanent
collection related to
specific locations or
sites. The eight works
come from different
cultures, span many
centuries and were made of
different materials or for
different reasons. Each of
the images provides a view
of the world shaped by the
artist who created
it. Questions
posed for the student
include: How might a
place inspire an
artist? Why and how do
artists represent
places? What do
artists tell us about

introductory guide is
