Jeremiah (Jere) Nathanial NILES was born 23 Sep 1824 in South Kingston, Washington. Co., Rhode Island. He died 5 Mar 1898 in Ridott, Stephenson Co., Illinois. He was buried in the Ridott Cemetery, IL. He was a Farmer and Fisherman and moved from Rhode Island to Stephenson County, Illinois about 1853. Locating first in Cedarville, then Silver Creek Twp. later to Lena and settling about 1868 in Ridott Twp, Stephenson County, IL

He married Mary Elizabeth HASTING on the 3 May 1818 near Lowell, Massachusetts. She died 6 Jan 1899 at her daughter Clara's Home in Freeport, IL and was buried with her husband in the Ridott Cemetery, Stephenson Co. IL. Her occupation was tailoring and weaving.
