General

Surf the web to find product rebates, coupons, etc.

When shopping, buy store brand instead of name brands.

If you do use name brand items, go to at Cool Savings (or other sites) and print web coupons from their site.

Use the coupons and rebates that are given to you when you check-out at grocery stores.

Use the coupons in the stores where they come out when you take one out.

You can't afford to buy low quality things. We painted the inside of our house using Sherwin Williams semi-gloss paint. This paint is high quality and we will not have to paint for 25 years since it is an excellent brand.

Don't buy every thing you see or your children see.

Cleaning

Crayon Removal Tip
Use a little bit of baking soda with a wet cloth to get of crayons and pencil marks off of walls. Scrub gently to take the marks off. I know this works for semi-gloss walls but I'm not sure for flat paint. This trick for removing pencil doesn't work on flat paint walls.

Use semi-gloss paint so when your children decide to color on the walls with crayons or pencil, it will come off.

To take of boot or shoe marks of floors, use SOS scouring pads or WD40.

Use old dryer sheets to pick up dust in the bathrooms or anywhere else in your house.

Use vinegar to get rid of most of your hard water spots on your sink faucets.

Kitchen

Save the broth from cooking meat in the crockpot or boiling chicken or other meats in a pan with water. Use this in recipes that calls for broth.

Buy bread items at the Thrift Bakery Stores and freeze them in the freezer.

Put the bread items you are using currently in the refrigerator so it doesn't go bad on you.

Don't buy frozen meals, pizza crust, or Hamburger Helper meals. Make home made meals (they are much cheaper) and make lots for leftovers.

Buy bread, rolls, hamburger or hot dog buns, or other bread items at Thrift Bakery Stores. For example, Rainbo Bakery Store. Most of these stores will give you a coupon card whenever you buy at their store for free bread items.

Parenting/Health

Breastfeed as long as possible. (It is free and you children will not be as sick as much. It also helps you lose the weight yor gained in your pregnancy.)

If you are breastfeeding your child, use breast milk for burns, eye infections, and stuffy nose for babies and children. You can even use it on yourself if you burn yourself while cooking or any other type of burn.

For younger children, if you want your children to think they have more juice, add water to their cups of juice. It is also good for them, so they don’t have as much sugar in them; especially juices with lots of sugar. I do it all the time with my daughters orange juice and cranberry juice.

We do not buy coloring books. We use cheap printer paper and print coloring pages that I have found on the internet. Here is the link of lots of coloring pages you can go to my Theme page to find different resources for your children.

It is a lot cheaper to go to second hand baby stores to purchase clothes, books, and toys for your children. The clothes and toys are almost always in good shape.

Take advantage of free children book offers.
