What did this make? (ice)  Take the ice out (run warm water on the bottom of the container.  Let it melt in a larger container or tray.  Predict, how long did it take each ice cube to melt.  Observe the ice.  Did it take less time for the bigger or the smaller containers?

Paper Snowflakes
Math Concepts: Symmetry and Fractions

Fold a piece of paper to make a square.  (It will look like a triangle before you fold it out.)
(You can get two squares out of a piece of paper or one big snowflake out of a piece of paper.)
Cut it along the straight part of the piece of paper.
Fold the paper in half again.
Using scissors, create your own design.

Ask, what do you see in your snowflake?  Is it the same?  This is called: symmetry.
