Rain Fingerplay

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Rain, rain, go away;
Come again another day;
Little Johnny wants to play.

(You can replace each child name in this song.)

It's raining, it's pouring

It's raining, it's pouring;
The old man is snoring.
Bumped his head
And he went to bed
And he couldn't get up in the morning.

It  Ain't Gonna Rain

It ain't gonna rain no more, no more.
It ain't gonna rain no more,
How in the heck will we (I) wash the (my) neck
If it ain't gonna rain no more?

Crafts
Rainstick Craft
Trace around one end of your paper towel tube and then make the circle bigger.  Make two circles. Make slits going inwards until you get to the small circle.  Cover one side of the paper towel tube with masking tape.  Glue to the construction paper on one side of the tube.  Cover it with the piece of round construction paper.  Glue (or tape) it around.  Cut two long pieces of aluminum foil and wrap each tightly (making long strips like a snake).  Make each one look like a spring.  Place them inside the tube.  Place some rice inside the open end and close off with masking tape. Cover it with the other round piece of construction paper.  Glue (or tape) it around.  Place a piece of construction paper on the tube.  Decorate with crayons, paints, etc.  (If you want it to last longer, laminate it using clear laminate paper that can be bought at Wal-Mart).  Make rain sounds.
