Animals That Hatch Out of Eggs Chick Craft Use a printable egg to decorate @ about.com (or make your one). Have the child decorate his/her egg shell. In the middle, make a zig-zag cut. To make a chick, make it out of yellow construction paper (one slightly bigger than the other). Glue them together in the middle. On the top, make eyes using a black marker or crayon*, and a triangle beak orange marker or crayon*, and a mouth. Glue the chick onto a piece of construction paper. Glue the bottom half of the egg just below the chick. Glue the top of the egg shell on its side but slightly overlapping (touching) the other shell. *If the child wants the eyes or beak to be a different color, let them be creative.
