"This online art database features images of over 31,000 artworks in the Museum's permanent collection.  Included are artworks from numerous countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.  Some of the many topics of interest include:  Islamic art and culture, African royal and utilitarian objects, mythological figures, portraits of famous people, World War II, costume from the 17th through the 20th century, and a wide variety of birds, animals and flowers. Whimsical subjects of interest to children include:  dragons, ghosts, battles, real and imaginary beasts, masks, historic children's clothing, planets, demons, horses, and wedding dresses."

"This site includes downloadable resources specifically developed for K-12 instructors.  "Places" encourages visitors to explore eight artworks from the permanent collection related to specific
locations or sites.  The eight works come from different cultures, span many centuries and were made of different materials or for different reasons. Each of the images provides a view of the world shaped by the artist who created it.   Questions posed for the student include:  How might a place inspire an artist?  Why and how do artists represent places?  What do artists tell us about places?  An introductory guide is provided in PDF format."
