Frog Theme

Bible Story
Exodus 8: Plague of Frogs @ lds.org This is about one of the plagues found in the Bible and visuals of how to make an origami frog.

Color 5 green (with brown or black spots) frog patterns.  (You might want to use one from: Environmental Coloring Sheets - Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.  You will need to reduce the size of the frog.) Laminate them.  Tape a craft stick on the back of the frogs.  Make a log out of brown felt or construction paper and a blue pool out of felt or paper.  (Laminate if your using paper.)  Place masking tape, sand paper, emery board, etc. on the back of the felt log, pond, and the frogs.  On the flannel board, place the log and blue pool under the log.  (If your using construction paper, place it on the felt board or against a poster board (leaning against something).)  As the song is sung, have the children remove the frog puppet from the log and jump into the "pool".  You can have some of the children pretend to jump into the pool.

Five Little Speckled Frogs and Printout to Color

Large Lily Pads
Cut some large cardboard boxes (or poster boards) to be circles.  Cut a long triangle out of one side.  Have the child color it green. Tape it to the floor in several places (so no one hurts gets hurt).

Musical Frogs
Play bouncy music.  Hop like frogs.  When the music stops, find the closest lily pad and hop on it.

Frog Jumping Race
Physical Education:  Use the lily pads (optional).  Jump like a frog.  If you like, say, “Jump, frog, jump!”.

Music: Sing Five Little Frogs.
Physical Education: Pretend to be a frog and jump of a log (blanket, pillow, etc.)

Frog Crafts

Origami Frogs
Decorate one side of a 3”x5” index card to look like a frog.  Fold it over widthwise.  Take one side of the card and fold the end down towards the folded line.
