Activities
-Draw the outline of the U.S. flag on a piece of paper. Talk about what
the
colors mean. Talk about how the flag came about. Let kids glue those
little
foil stars on the blue part. My kids have
friends, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles in different states. We glue
a
star on especially for them, "This star is for Utah where ________
lives".
I've found out that having a map of the U.S.
helps too.
-Go visit a military recruitment office. (Call ahead)
-Go visit a military base. (Call ahead)
-Plan a service activity for a friend, community, etc.
-Plan to spend it together as a family.
