Activity: Teach a song

Grade(s): Preschool through 3rd Grade

Materials: Flannel Board Story or Stars on sticks or straws

Lesson Sequence

1.  Anticipatory Set: Who knows a song about stars?  (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star).  Sing the song.  Have you ever seen a star at night?  Can you count all those stars? (No!)

2.  Teaching the Song:

Flannel Board Story: Cut out as many stars you want the children to count using white felt or flannel.  You can use the star located at Christy's Christmas Clipart.  Have the children place them on the flannel board as the song is sung.

You can use stars on sticks or straws if you want instead of the flannel board stars.
