I made a cootie catcher but I use it for Physical Education activities instead of a cootie catcher or fortune teller.  I made the origamI I learned when I was a child but you can follow the instructions found at: FUNORAMA - Cootie Catcher. On the front, I colored four circles (e.g. blue, red, green, yellow).  In the inside part of the origami, I numbered each triangle in the center (1-8).  I opened it up and then put activities under each number. (e.g. Run in place.  Touch your toes. Skip across the room.  Hop on one foot.  Leap like a frog.  Do arm circles.  Do jumping jacks.  Jump up and down.)  To play the game, have the child choose a color.  Say each letter of that color (e.g.  R-E-D, moving it three times, keeping it open as you say the letters)  Have the child pick a number.  Move it that many times (keeping it open as you count).  Have the child pick another number.  Move it that many times (keeping it open as you count).  Open  that number and have the child do the P.E. activity that is under that number.  (You can have each child take turns moving the origami.)
